Dr. Abdelatif Alshafie
Head of Hazardous Waste Department
Al Nasser Investment Group


Dr. Alshafie obtained his PhD degree in Environmental Engineering from Concordia University, and his Masters degree in Environmental Engineering from McGill University, Canada. 

His research interests focus primarily on a number of substances that have the ability to disturb the endocrine system. The outcome of his PhD research provided better understanding of science underlying the fate and transport of endocrine disrupting compounds within environmental ecosystems. 

Other areas of expertise include surface and groundwater contamination with pharmaceutical chemically-complex organic waste, physico-chemical and biological processes affecting fate and transport of organic compounds in ecosystems, biodegradation of chemically complex wastes, chemical, physical and biological treatment of wastewater. He is also interested in studying the transport processes in of various contaminants in soil media for alternative site remediation techniques. 

Dr. Alshafie is currently the Head of Hazardous Waste Management Department, at Al-Nasser Investment Group.
