Dubai World planning to expand presence in China
The opportunities for strengthening
co-operation between China and the UAE are immense, said
Istithmar's CEO, David Jackson, speaking at the FT China- Middle
East Summit held in Dubai yesterday. Istithmar is the investment
banking arm of the Dubai government, and is owned 50/50 by the
Corporate Office of Dubai and Dubai World.

Turkish contractors gaining experience in Libya

contractors operating overseas started their education the
Middle East and have moved on to perfecting their knowledge in
Libya, Turkish Minister of Foreign Trade Kürşat Tüzmen said
during an official visit to Libya on Tuesday.

Gulf steel production to rise by 11m tonnes as demand increases
Steel production in the GCC will grow by 11 million
tonnes in the next few years when about 15 ongoing projects are
completed, according to industry sources.
Demand for steel has been rising in the Gulf because of a
construction boom and a flurry of industrial and infrastructure
projects. |
